Reporting to the mayor and city council as a whole, the Westover City Clerk has a variety of responsibilities that include recording and archiving City of Westover council minutes, providing administrative support to city council, maintaining ordinances, deeds, resolutions and the history of the city. Additionally, the City Clerk serves as the primary election official for city council and mayoral elections. You can email Sandie at sweis@westoverwv.gov. The City of Westover maintains its own police force, with Joe Adams serving as Chief of Police. Our officers take great pride in serving our community and keeping its residents safe. Finance Director

Finance Director Karen Mason is responsible for all accounting activity of the City including periodic and annual financial reporting, budget preparation and monitoring, and billing and collection. Karen can be reached via email at kmason@westoverwv.gov or by phone at (304) 296-6860.

City Attorney

 

City Attorney Tim Stranko serves as general counsel to the City of Westover. In this capacity he renders oral and written legal opinions to the mayor and council, city manager,department directors and other staff as requested. Tim prepares court papers, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, deeds, leases, and other legal documents. 

City Prosecutor

 

As City Prosecutor, Matthew Thorn is responsible for gathering and analyzing evidence in cases and reviewing pertinent decisions, policies, regulations, and other legal matters pertaining to the cases. In this capacity, Matt presents evidence to the appropriate Court of Law in the ultimate search for that which justice may dictate.

Municipal Judge

 

Judge Dimas Reyes acts in the interpretation, application and enforcement of local ordinances and applicable State laws. He performs these duties by presiding over the municipal court sessions (including pre-trials, trials, hearings and other judicial proceedings) and functioning as a magistrate.
